RAUMARCHIV DREISPITZ

The Project Raumarchiv Dreispitz, was a Student Project where we were tasked with creating a VR experiance, that documents the current situation of the Area. The Dreispitz Area is a mixed area, where residential, industry and, commercial companys operate. The are is changing however and the indutrial part is becoming smaller, as prices rise. I was interested in showing this part of the areal and to find a interactive way to preserve it for when it is gone.

In my process and research i found alot of Airphotography, that documented the developement of the area between 1920 until today.

On my search for a interesting place to portray for VR i came across a crane operator office, that was placed inside a container. I decided to make a photogrametry model with permission of the workers. However the photogrametry was not to my liking so i decided to make my own interpretation of the room.

I espassialy liked the room, because it was small and unique so exploring it in VR would be fun. I built the container first and started to add my assets later in Unity.

For the exhibition i chose to restyle my textures to give them a retro game asthetic look to represent the fact that this may soon be a place of the past.

This model is based of a real life location, that inspired me to recreate that workplace in a simplified fashion while trying to keep its character and ambiance alive.
