Rheinfelden VR
Together with Claus Pfisterer from Apochroma Photography and Beni Elmaleh we were working on a VR Project for the Rheinfelden Tourism Office. We had the task to recreate a Virtual Representation of the Old Town of Rheinfelden and give people a virtual time-travel 125 years back in time. Together in the team we combined our different skills to achieve this goal. Step by Step we figured out a work-flow and made stylistic choices on the way. I learned to combine different work-flows such as Photogrametry, 3d Modelling, texture baking and using deep-learning technology.
The pretty Town-Hall that became center of our instellation.
Using a drone to create a photogrametry model, gave us a detailed map of dimensions and scale of our surrounding, and helped me for the modelling process.
Using the Photogrametry as a guide, i recreated the closest buildings in the VR Scene with a simplified and linear mesh that would make it easier to create detailed textures.
Using a combination of baking textures from photographs as well as using painting software and seamless textures i created new and more detailed textures for the buildings
